Adam Ant - Matthew Ashman memorial concert

So, i'm a lucky lad! I've been an Antfan for as long as I can remember, and i've seen Adam twice in a week! Not only was I lucky enough to photograph his first full electric gig in 15 years a few months ago, I was also excited to be seeing him twice in the last couple of days.

I had a photo pass to shoot him on Thursday 18th November, but for reasons unknown Adam decided he wanted no photographers on that night, so I enjoyed the gig from the front row, purely as a fan, and had the time of my life to be honest as most of the set was pulled from his early punk years and not from his more "famous" days.

I was back to London on Sunday 21st of November for the Matthew Ashman memorial concert. For those not in the know, "Maff" was the guitarist in the version of the Ants that recorded the "Dirk Wears White Sox" album. He was also guitarist in Bow Wow Wow and then "Chiefs Of Relief" and sadly died of complications resulting from Diabetes aged 35 in 1995.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, a memorial concert was held on the 15th anniversary of Maff's death to raise funds for Diabetes UK, which Adam headlined.

Here are some of my shots from the concert. If you are interested in Adams jacket, its not the original hussars jacket he wore in the 80's but a version made for him by the lovely Naomi Rachel Gibbs from Portsmouth, you can find her on facebook here http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=532592904 and she's second from the right in the last photograph.

Adams hat was made by Mich Dulce, Adam has a strong interest in the Navy and Nelson in particular, you can find Mich at http://bitchdulce.blogspot.com/2010/11/adam-ant-wears-mich-dulce-at-matthew.html

Right, after all that I better show you some pictures I suppose, hope you enjoy! :)
